Jane Seaborn
Research and Strategy Consultant

Working as a research and strategy consultant in our Canberra office, Jane's insight comes from more than 20 years of research and communications experience.

Jane's media and campaign heritage has been honed by more than a decade of corporate communications experience. She was founder and principal of boutique marketing communications consultancy The Big Picture for more than 10 years until it was acquired by Crosby|Textor in 2006.

The Big Picture provided strategic communications and research services to a diverse and blue-chip client list of large corporations, small businesses, not-for-profit organisations, and governments, including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Multiplex, Deacons, Platinum Investment Services, the Australian Institute of Sport, the Health Insurance Commission, the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, the Minerals Council of Australia and the Natural Heritage Trust.

Jane specialises in research and analysis that underpins strategies to assist clients achieve successful outcomes including:

  • Assessing views of shareholders for numerous public companies and advising on shareholder communications as well as conducting research of Australian shareholders for The Australian newspaper's “Shareholder Jury”.
  • Assessing public, customer, policy-holder, subscriber and key opinion leader attitudes to the provision of services by a range of clients in industries including banking, insurance and financial services, health insurance, environment and resources, transport and local government.
  • Developing and assessing advertising and marketing materials from developing the brief to concept testing to refining final artwork and TVCs.
  • Assessing attitudes and expectations of both corporate and individual members in a wide range of member-based organisations seeking to measure their performance and identify opportunities for enhanced member relations.
  • Values laddering and identifying the key behavioural drivers behind actions that impact on commercial decision-making.
  • Measuring price elasticity to identify the critical price points for generating behavioural shifts in a range of industries and environments.

Jane has worked as a journalist in metropolitan print, radio and television media including in the NSW Press Gallery and has advised government and community leaders on media and communications strategies.

Jane is a Qualified Practising Market Researcher (QPMR), a Member of the Market and Social Research Society of Australia (MSRSA) and an Associate Member of Finsia.
